SOLUTION: When a generating state is judged on the basis of the detection signal of a generating state detection part 127 in no electricity-saving mode, time display is continued. On the other hand, in non-generating state, a non- generating time measuring circuit 134 counts the non-generating time, and when the non-generation time is continued over a prescribed set time, the time display is automatically stopped and transferred to electricity-saving mode. When the generating state detection part 127 detects that a generating mechanism 210 is in generating state, and the capacity of a secondary power source 25 is sufficient, a rapid traverse pulse is transmitted from a drive control circuit 125 to a hour hand and minute hand driving part 113a and a second hand driving part 113b to restore the time display to the present time.
