PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a light source to retract from a mounting surface so that the mounting surface can be sufficiently used, ensure the illuminance, reduce the weight and the quantity of batteries, and extend the battery life by providing the light source section which illuminates the mounting surface in a manner to be advanceable/ retractable to the mounting surface, on a board main body having the mounting surface for documents or the like. SOLUTION: To a mounting surface 2 for documents or the like which is held by a binder utensil 4 provided on the main body 3 of this portable holder board 1 having an illumination, a light source section 6 comprising a high brightness LED is provided in a manner to be advanceable/retractable on an arm 7 which is projected from one end of the main body 3. Then, a turning body 5 which can be set aside on the rear surface 2a side of the main body 3 when not required, and position-fixed, is turnably provided on the arm 7. Then, on the light source section 6, a reflecting plate 5a and a hood 5b are provided to efficiently irradiate light from the LED 6a in the direction to the mounting surface 2 and illuminate the total surface, are provided. Therefore, the light from the LED 6a can efficiently illuminate the total surface of the mounting surface 2 from an upper space which is away from the mounting surface 2 by a specified distance.
