PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resume printing continuously from a position where an error concerning to a head has occurred. SOLUTION: When an ink head and a printer body short-circuit electrically during print operation to generate an error, the position of the ink head is detected and stored in an RAM (Steps S11, S12). When the error is removed eventually, the ink head is reset to an original position stored in the RAM (Steps S13-S21). According to the arrangement, print can be continued from the position where the error has occurred and normal print results can be obtained.
