A method and an apparatus for sucking up and transporting liquids of various kinds through a suction means (D) to a mixing and defoaming unit (F) and, concurrently therewith, dosing (E) and additive (20; 20') into the liquid which has been sucked up, substantially proportionally to the amount of sucked up liquid, whereby a liquid or a liquid/air/gas mixture is sucked up by means of a suction nozzle (17) at the end of a suction means (D) and is passed into the mixing and defoaming unit (F), and in which a dosing agent (20) is supplied directly into the liquid at the inlet (28) of said unit (F) substantially proportionally to the amount of sucked up liquid, as soon as there is any liquid in the suction means (D), and in which the sucked up liquid together with added dosing agent (20) is subjected to a G-force providing a quick and effective mixing together of the liquid and the dosing agent and, concurrently therewith, an elimination of existing liquid foam. The Gforce can be provided by a means (E) providing a centrifugation of the liquid and the dosing agent.
