METHOD FOR SUPPRESSING THERMAL STRESS OF INK JET PRINT HEAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress thermal aging of an ink jet print head without markedly extending a preheating time period. SOLUTION: An ink reservoir 15 is maintained in a reserving standby temperature and an ink jet 11 is maintained in an ink jet standby temperature. The ink reservoir is heated to a reserving operational temperature and the ink jet 11 is heated to an ink jet operational temperature. The ink reservoir is maintained in the reserving operational temperature and the ink jet is maintained in an ink ejection temperature. After a lapse of predetermined time period, the ink reservoir is maintained in the reserving operational temperature and the ink jet is cooled down to jet stack standby temperature which is lower than the ink jet operational temperature and higher than the ink jet standby temperature.
