PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for spraying a chemical agent, detecting the direction and speed of a wind to automatically control the operation of the spraying device and thereby using the wind to spray the chemical agent. SOLUTION: This method for spraying a chemical agent comprises disposing a powder-driven spraying device 2 in a spraying target region or its peripheral area and detecting the direction and speed of a wind in the spraying device 2 to automatically control the spraying device 2 disposed on the upwind side of the spraying target region 1. The device for spraying the chemical agent comprises the powder-driven spraying device 2, a wind-measuring device 5 for detecting the direction and/or speed of the wind and then outputting the detection signal, and a control device 7 for controlling the ON-OFF operations and/or spraying speed of the spraying device 2 on the basis of the detection signal of the wind-measuring device 6.
