PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a bleeding under a high moisture, and a discoloration of a white base section from occurring, and improve the ink absorbing property and the gloss by laminating at least one layer of an ink receiving layer containing a vapor phase method silica and a silane coupling agent, on a water- resistant supporting body. SOLUTION: This sheet for ink jet recording is prepared by laminating at least one layer of an ink receiving layer containing a vapor phase method silica and a silane coupling agent, on a water-resistant supporting body. The vapor phase method silica is obtained by a flame hydrolyzing method, and in concrete, a method wherein a vapor phase method silica is prepared by burning silicon tetrachloride together with hydrogen and oxygen, is common. A vapor phase method silica having an average primary particle diameter of 3-15 nm, and a specific surface area by the BET method of 200 m2/g or higher, is preferable, and the amount of the gaseous phase method silica contained in the ink receiving layer preferably is 8 g/m2 or higher. Also, the silane coupling agent is a compound having an alkoxysilyl group or a silylhalide group. |
