PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer image data corresponding to presence/absence of an expansion function of an image data transfer destination to the destination. SOLUTION: In the image data recorder, a digital camera card control section records non-compression main image data, non-compression sub image data and compressed sub image data to individual areas of a memory card such that the main image data are stored in an image data area Qm of a 0th image file directory IFD, the non-compression sub image data are stored in a non- compression sub image data area Qf in the 1stIFD, and compressed sub image data are stored in a compressed sub image data area Qs in a maker note N2, or the compressed sub image data in the non-compression sub image data area Qf of the 1stIFD in the memory card 13, or the compressed sub image data is recorded in a maker note N3 of the 1stIFD in the memory card.
