PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize a zooming position or a zooming range of a maximum magnification in a proximate-photographing mode by providing a display means for displaying the zooming position or the zooming range of nearly maximum magnification when the proximate-photographing mode is set. SOLUTION: The display means 7, 20 for displaying the zooming position or the zooming range of nearly maximum magnification when the proximate- photographing mode is set is provided. Then, when an AF mode switch 17 sets a macro mode, a controller 20 executes proximate-photographing operation. A zooming position is detected by the number of driving steps from a reference position detected by a sensor 12 with the zooming operation of a zoom lens by a zooming up switch 15 or a zooming down switch 16. It is confirmed whether or not the zooming position enters a prescribed range including the zooming position maximizing a macro magnification. When the zooming position is in a prescribed range, the display color of a tulip mark on a monitor screen is changed, but if it is outside of the prescribed range, the display color is not changed.
