PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device and a disk access method for ensuring a band width necessitated by a host device without deteriorating data transferring efficiency between the magnetic disk and a buffer memory even when access is performed to large capacity continuous data in plural systems. SOLUTION: At the time of performing access to a large capacity file in plural systems on a magnetic disk 7, a command history managing part 3 stores the. history of commands, and detects whether or not the accesses are continued. When the continuity of the plural systems is detected, the access to the magnetic disk 7 is executed not by data length requested by the command by track units according to the transferring situation of each system. Thus, at the time of performing access to the plural large capacity continuous data, data transfer can be processed in a short time by reducing the generation of seek by using the access units to the magnetic disk 7 as the number of sectors per track, and data transferring efficiency can be improved by reducing the number of times of seek.
