PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact turn lock device capable of surely locking a rotary member in an arbitrary turn position, smoothly and easily performing releasing operation, and coping with high load torque. SOLUTION: A cage part 4A of a roller retainer 4 fixed to a machine frame side is arranged between an operating shaft 2 formed with a cam surface S in a plurality of parts of a cylindrical external peripheral surface and an outer cylinder 5, and a roller holding hole for holding a roller rotatably and idle movably in a radial direction of the cage part is formed in a corresponding position to each cam surface in the cage part. The operating shaft is turnably energized in a reverse direction to a direction of load torque acting on the outer cylinder by an energizing member, the roller is interposed between the cam surface and an internal peripheral surface of the outer cylinder, and by friction, rotation of the outer cylinder is locked only in the load torque direction. The outer cylinder is unlocked by turning the operating shaft in the load torque direction. |
