PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct proper color temperature correction in the case of flat luminescence. SOLUTION: In this image pickup method, whether or not charging of a capacitor of a strobe is finished is discriminated on the basis of a charging end flag CCCF in the S412, and when not finished, '0' is set to a pointer, daylight correction data are read from a correction data ROM to correct the color temperature (S417-S423). When finished, whether flat luminescence or usual flash is discriminated on the basis of a flat luminescence flag FLATF in the S413, '4' is set to the pointer in the case of flat luminescence, correction data for flat luminescence are read from the correction data ROM to correct the color temperature (S417-S423). In the case of usual flash, '2' is set to the pointer in the case of flat luminescence, correction data for flat luminescence are read from the correction data ROM to correct the color temperature (S417-S423).
