BASE CLOTH FOR AIR BAG AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base cloth for air bag having excellent bag-housing property and low air-permeability, free from generation of fraying in cutting and sewing of the bag and keeping mechanical properties necessary for an air bag and provide a process for producing the bag. SOLUTION: The base cloth for air bag is composed of a synthetic fiber cloth made of the yarn having a single fiber fineness of 1-8 de and a total denier of 100-250 de. A synthetic resin is applied to at least one surface of the cloth and the air-permeability of the cloth is <=0.5 cc/cm2/sec measured in conformity with JIS L1096A. The base cloth for air bag can be produced by applying a diluted resin liquid or foamed resin liquid composed of a synthetic resin to cloth and heat-treating the cloth.
