The present invention relates to telecommunication systems. The object of the invention is to disclose a method and system for the utilization of applications stored on a subscriber identity module (SIM) and for secure treatment of the associated information in a telecommunication system. In the method, the keys required for encryption and/or decryption and/or signature are saved to the subscriber identity module (SIM), in a space (3) to which access is only allowed to a predetemined partition stored on the subscriber identity module (SIM) in a given operating mode. In addition, other essential information relating to the applications used can be stored in said space (3). The invention makes it possible to send and receive encrypted messages and to decrypt them. The present invention can be used e.g. in various payment transactions requiring security. |
