PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fay wood members easily, surely and firmly only by simple connection machining, to keep strong fixing force against the shaking by a large earthquake and the compression or tension from a lateral frame member and to disperse the vertical load of the lateral frame member. SOLUTION: This faying metal fitting is provided with a metal fitting main body 10 constituted of a back section fixed to a column 100, a reception section fixed to a beam 200, and a side face section connecting the back section and the reception section and having a U-shaped cross section, fixing bolts 20 fixing the metal fitting main body 10 to the column 100 through the back section, axial fixing means 30, 40 fixing the metal fitting main body 10 to the beam 200 through the reception section, a reinforcing member 50 constituted of a pair of opposite plate sections and a connection section connecting the opposite plate sections together and inserted and suspended between the back section and the reception section of the metal fitting main body 10 in a slide contact state, and a reinforcing dowel member 60 constituted of a hold section and protruded shaft dowels so that the hold section is fixed to the back section by the fixing bolts 20 and shaft dowels are inserted into the column 100 through the back section.
