PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the friction between a lower guiding piece constituting a rapier head and a rapier guide on which the lower guiding piece slides, and at the same time to stabilize the running of the rapier head, in a woven fabric having a quick cross timing of a warp opening. SOLUTION: In a production of a woven fabric having a quick cross timing of a warp opening, a height controlling member 5 is attached on a rapier head body 3, and it is allowed to protrude either in the upper direction or the lower direction from the rapier head body 3, and thereby the distance between the upper most surface and the lower most surface of the rapier head 2 is made adjustable. By this, when the rapier head 2 retreats to the vicinity of the weaving end and touches a warp, the pressing powers put on the rapier head 2 of the upper warp and the lower warp are balanced.
