<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer fixing device and a developer fixing method in which a one-way thermal fixing system for supplying heat energy only from a developer layer side is adopted and by which a fixing feasible area is widened. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of a heated fixing member 41 and a pressure member 43 provided in press-contact with the member 41. In the device, recording material carrying unfixed developer is fed between the members 41 and 43 so that a surface side having the unfixed developer comes in contact with the member 41. Assuming that the quantity of the heat energy supplied from the member 41 to the developer and the recording material and calculated from the temperature of the developer, the recording material and the members 41 and 43 just before fixing is Qh, and the quantity of the heat energy supplied from the member 43 to the developer and the recording material is Qp, Qp/Qh<=0.7 is satisfied in the case of fixing operation by the members 41 and 43.</p> |
