A device inserting solid materials 4 under a tissue 9 comprises a housing 1 and a hollow tubular member 2 having a distal end and a proximal end. Hollow tubular member 3 extends from the distal end of housing 1. A passage 3 runs coaxially through housing 1 and hollow tubular member 2. The passage has sufficient internal dimensions to accommodate the storage and a passage of solid material 4 to be deposited in use. An obturator 5 has a length and dimensions to pass through passage 3 to facilitate passage of solid material 4 therethrough. A linear penetration guide 7 has a proximal end and a distal end. Guide 7 extends housing 1 and is parallel to and separated by a distance from hollow tubular member 2.
