The sprayable insecticidal composition comprises: a) an insecticidally effective amount of an insecticide; b) 3 to 9% wt/wt of an abrasive; c) 2 to 7% wt/wt of a surfactant; d) an inert carrier and e) 0 to 6% wt/wt of a film-forming inhibitor. 10 to 70% wt/wt of the insecticide can be present such as chlorfenapyr. 25 to 75% wt/wt of the inert carrier can be present such as kaolin clay. The film-forming inhibitor can be an inorganic salt such as calcium chloride. The abrasive can be a silicate such as calcium silicate.
