Flavonol containing food supplements

A plant-derived dry composition obtained from grapes, wine or flavonol-containing by-products or waste-products of the wine-making process, wherein at least 25% w/w of the plant derived material in the composition comprises polyphenols, the composition as a whole comprising at least 0.01% w/w flavonol. The composition is useful for inhibiting oxidation of plasma LDL, stimulating TGF-beta production; inhibiting platelet aggregation and fibrinolsis.
