The specimen device has a first (4) and a second panel and a reagent sheet (9) therebetween. The first panel has a first aperture (10, 12, 14) with a first aperture cover (16, 18, 20). The sheet in the first apertures has first (40) and second (42) portions disposed on opposite sides of a longitudinal axis of the first panel, wherein a fecal speciment is smeared on the sheet in the first aperture of the first panel so as to cover the first and second portions.
