MAGNESIUM (-)HYDROXYCITRATE, METHOD OF PREPARATION, APPLICATIONS, AND COMPOSITIONS IN PARTICULAR PHARMACEUTICAL CONTAINING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A magnesium (-)hydroxycitrate is provided, which is gained from the extract of Garcinia indica or Garcinia cambogia, and which can be used in diabetics or in cosmetics, and in therapeutics particularly in the cardiovascular field. The magnesium (-)hydroxycitrate can be added in tablets, drink, ampule, and suspension. CONSTITUTION: A process for the preparation of magnesium (-)hydroxycitrate comprises of: reacting the titrated solution of hydroxycitric acid 60g/L, the Garcinia cambogia 30% extract 1kg with ethanol 2L to get precipitates being acted from polyvinyl polypyrolidone 50g, and shaking for 30minutes; eliminating the solid part by centrifuging for 15minutes at 6000g to get upper solution; processing batch chromatography the upper solution on DEAE SEPHADEX A 50 anionic exchange resin(resin 1g per acid 1.5M) balanced with 0.1M NaCl of pH3, shaking for 16hrs, and eliminating the upper solution; and dissolving out with 0.5M magnesium chloride solution 1000ml, shaking for 4hrs, gathering the dissolved material, and drying to get the objective product 70g.
