PURPOSE: A clamping support for fixing a rearview mirror to an automotive vehicle is provided to accomplish improvements enabling the clamping support to be mounted to and released from to the vehicle and the clamping support to be firmly fixed to the vehicle while arranging a locking device to be positioned onto a clamp reception fixture. CONSTITUTION: A clamping support for fixing a rearview mirror(1) onto a vehicle, the support comprising a clamp reception fixture(38) attached onto a vehicle, an insertable component(26) having a mirror side end portion and a vehicle side end portion, the mirror side end portion of the component(26) being capable of connected to the rearview mirror(1) and the vehicle side end portion of the component(26) being capable of inserted into the clamp reception fixture(38), and a clamp wedge(36) positioned slidably onto the component(26), the clamp wedge(36) being moved in clamping direction so as to attached to the component(26) and the clamp reception fixture(38).
