The system includes comparison of two measurements with reference values to ensure accurate angular alignment. The system provides monitoring of the male (3) and female conical threads on the ends of metal tubes, enabling sealed joints to be formed between them. The system includes monitoring the primitive diameter of the threads in a measurement plane (P1) in the middle of the perfect threads, and also at the last of the perfect male threads (P0). These values are compared with reference values, and with knowledge of the distance between the measurement planes the degree of conicity is determined.
