Apparatus for fabricating a stent comprises a base 401, a sheet receiving area 402 disposed on the base adapted to receive a flat sheet of metal to be formed into a stent, means, e.g. arm 403, for securing a mandrel 406 against a major surface of the flat sheet of metal, and means 407 for deforming the flat sheet of metal against the external surface of the mandrel so that the flat sheet of metal is deformed into a substantially tubular shape substantially conforming to the external surface of the mandrel with the long sides of the sheet of metal substantially parallel to each other. |
