INDIVIDUAL IDENTIFICATION METHOD, APPARATUS AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE: An individual identification method, apparatus and recording medium are provided to achieve an enhanced identifiability without probabilistically decreasing ratio of excluding other person. CONSTITUTION: An individual identification method comprises the steps of obtaining a verification result of feature data extracted from input data indicative of physical characteristic of an individual as a verification source and the pre-registered feature data of the object to be verified; and identifying an individual according to whether the degree of similarity obtained by the verification result exceeds an individual threshold which is set correspondingly to the pre-registered feature data. The individual threshold is calculated being based on a distribution of verification score between the feature data extracted from the data indicative of the physical characteristic of an individual as a verification source and the corresponding characteristic data, and a distribution of verification score between the feature data extracted from the data indicative of the physical characteristic of an individual as a verification source and the non-corresponding characteristic data.
