CONTENT PROVIDER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD

A content provider management system and method for managing content submitted by a content provider that is distributed by way of data distribution system to one or more personal computers of content subscribers. The system has a content manager module disposed on a computer of the data distribution system that establishes and initializes access rights for the respective content provider. A content provider module is disposed on a computer controlled by each content provider that is enabled by the content manager module. The content provider module sends content to the data distribution system for transmission to the personal computers of content subscribers after being enabled by the content manager module. The content provider module may generate content tagging instructions that are subsequently performed by computer of the data distribution system, such as delivery schedule and priority instructions. The content provider module may also generate content tagging instructions that are subsequently performed by personal computers of content subscribers, such as display and storage instructions.
