<p>An optical filter system (10) that includes a holographic device (12) having a plurality of holographic optical elements (30, 32, 34) switchable between an active state wherein light from a light source (14) is diffracted by the device and a passive state wherein the light is not diffracted by the device. Each of the holographic optical elements is operable to form a light beam having a wavelength band different from the light beams formed by the other optical elements. A color filter (18) is positioned to receive the light beams from the holographic device and operable to reduce a wavelength band profile of the light beams. The system further includes an optical device (26) operable to collimate the light beams emitted from the color filter.</p> |
