The adjustment device uses a transmission lever (7) displaced relative to the primary brake block (1), dependent on the brake pad wear, for altering the relative spacing between the primary and secondary brake blocks (1,2) on the side opposite the brake operator (3), via a length-adjustable spacer (9) acting between the ends of the brake blocks.
