METHOD FOR PREPARING TETRA-ALKYLTHIURAM DISULPHIDES

The invention concerns a method for preparing tetra-alkylthiuram disulphides, which consists in: oxidising dialkylammonium dialkylthiocarbamate in an aqueous solution with oxygen, with addition of carbon disulphides, the reaction being carried out in the presence of a metal catalyst and a dispersing agent, at a pH value of the reaction mixture ranging between 7.0 and 8.0. The method enables to obtain very pure tetra-alkylthiuram disulphide, for rubber vulcanisation, and at a higher concentration in the reaction mixture, thereby enabling it to be used directly for formulations designed for agricultural chemistry.
