When splitting optical fibers (1) using conventional cutting devices, the split fibers (1) are distributed in a disordered manner on the second fixing element (26) after the splitting operation in such a way that they are difficult and complicated to remove. Using a bonding device (20, 21) in the form of a rocker (21) with an adhesive strip (20), the ends of the fiber are glued during the splitting operation so that said ends remain in an orderly manner on the adhesive strip after the splitting process. The rocker (21) is mounted in such a way as to pivot between an insert position and a splitting position in order to facilitate the insertion of the fibers (1).
