Devices are specially configured to apply electromagnetic energy to skin. Each device comprises a carrier (30), and an array of electrodes (58) on the carrier, which are connected to a source of electromagnetic energy. The carrier, in use, contacts epidermal tissue (16). The electrodes either rest on the epidermal surface, or alternatively, are sized to extend into tissue beneath the epidermal tissue, e.g., into dermal tissue or into subdermal tissue. The carrier can be differently shaped to match different skin region topographies.
