<p>The invention is directed to a clamping device (10) for a coin bag (105) that receives coins from a coin exit region (14) of a coin processing machine. The device (10) includes a mounting structure (15) located at the coin exit region (14). The mounting structure (15) has first (92) and second (93) outer surfaces generally angled with respect to a vertical line. A holder member (16) movably mounted with respect to the mounting structure (15) between an open and a closed position. The holder member (16) has first (90) and second (91) inner surfaces generally opposing the outer surfaces (92, 93) of the mounting structure (15) when the holder member (16) is in the closed position. A bag receiving region (100) is defined between the first inner and outer surfaces and between the second inner and outer surfaces. The bag receiving region (100) decreases in size when the holder member (16) is moved from the opened to the closed position where the bag is clamped tightly between the inner and outer surfaces. To release the holder member (16) from the mounting structure (15) when the two components are clamping the bag, the bag clamping device includes a cam (20). A lever (26) is attached to the cam (20) for manual actuation by the operator. When actuated, the cam (20) engages the mounting structure (15) to force the holding member (16) away from the mounting structure (15) and release the bag (105).</p> |
