The drum brake, and especially for a vehicle, has a brake drum (1) and an inner mechanism to force a brake lining (4) against a friction ring (5) within the brake drum. The brake lining (4) is forced against the brake drum by a number of piston/cylinder units (3), distributed equally within the drum and fitted to a leg of the axle. The piston/cylinder units (3) are in an even number which give a parallel displacement (P) on opposite sides of their connecting chords (VS) through the drum axis (2).
