The hollow section producing process involves first producing from sheet an initial flanged section of smaller cross-section surface and with a longer flange than the end product. Fluid pressure is then exerted on it internally to deform it to its final shape. The rolling of the plate is arranged so that at least one of the two vertically separated halves is rolled under the flange.
