The rail (1) comes as double U-profile with one profile leg extended to go over into the opposing U-profile leg. This extended leg gives rise to a wall (2) whose holes (3) are used to fix the rail in place and the shorter legs of the U-profile are toothed (4) right the way along. Each assembly clip (5) presents a baseplate (6) whose outer side rests on assembly on the shorter profile legs of the rail (1) so the flat tongue (7) of the baseplate slopes down at an angle and thus reaches in between the rail legs and outer end of its arms (8) grasp the U-rail legs from behind. In this position the arms are latched in by the toothing (4). At the far end of the baseplate (6) a holding clamp (9) in the same direction as the tongue (7) serves the paneling board etc. Opposed holding clamps are provided for the tongue-and-grooved boards to either side.
