The textile mat material is a bulked felt-type layer of textile waste which is bonded mechanically and/or thermally. The layer (1) is composed of a variety of different textile components (2-4) in various structures of fibers, filaments or fabric fragments. They are arranged at random in a three-dimensional layer, where they cling together through the natural adhesion of the fiber components (2) at the surfaces of the filaments and fabric fragments (3,4). The separate fiber, filament and fabric components (2-4) are of different dimensions and are in the same or different mass proportions, using the same or different materials. An Independent claim is included for a mfg. process where the material components are ground into fibers, filaments and fabric fragments (2-4), laid to form a felt fabric material (1). In the feed, mass flow deviations are registered to adjust the flow speeds at the material supply points to correct the flow patterns. Preferred Features: The control is structured to form a felt fabric layer (1) with a constant surface mass. The fed materials are weighed on belt scales, with a time-phase coupling for the weight measurements with the layer formation unit. The constant surface mass is achieved by a material feed shaft store between the grinder and the laying unit. The textile layer (1) is moved directly into a mechanical or thermal felt bonding stage. The grinding of the fibers, filaments and fabric fragments (2-4) and their deployment in the textile layer (1) are controlled by vol. The textile layer (1) can be formed directly at the grinder, or the grinder and material laying are separate units each with a material take-in, a rotating drum and a mesh drum, with a control unit between the grinder and the take-in. A number of grinders can be used in succession. |
