An illuminated stretcher trolley 10 comprises a trolley 10, preferably comprising upper 16a-c and lower 18 quadrilateral frames, support 12 and a mattress, and at least one light 54. Lights (48, 50, 52, 54, figure 3) preferably emit light down and away from trolley 10 and illuminate its ends, sides and wheels 45. Light 54 may be switched on via control means (figure 6) by ambient light detector (106) and may flash intermittently and may comprise LED's (100, figure 6) powered by rechargeable batteries (102) located with the control means in hollow tube (70, figure 5). Lights 52, 54 may have different colours for different sides and the area and direction of the light emitted may be adjustable, preferably the direction changes if trolley 10 is lowered or raised. Batteries (102) may be recharged from an ambulance via input (104) which automatically disconnects if trolley 10 is moved from the power source. |
