The unit is used to air-condition a room (1), and has reservoirs (2,3) for moisture-absorbing granules, a heater to dry them, a cooler to extract heat from them, and a humidifier. The granules are mounted in the reservoir between perforated metal sheets, to which pipes are fixed. Both reservoirs operate simultaneously, so that when one is drying its airflow and cooling the granules which heat up during the drying process, the other is regenerating its granules using a heating medium which flows through its pipes. A three-way valve combination (12) is arranged behind the reservoirs, in order to guide air from them, along one path into the room or along another discharge path (17). A further valve combination (13) has pipes (8,9) to guide a heating medium into one reservoir and a cooling medium into the other alternately, and both valve combinations are operated simultaneously by a control device. |
