摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the size of a particle and the number of particles in a unit area and to judge turbidity by visualizing fine particles in liquid with a dark visual field lighting mechanism and enlarging the image of the fine particles with high magnification. SOLUTION: Scattered light being dispersed from a dark visual field lighting mechanism 1 is applied to a fine particle 8 in liquid within a container, and the visualized fine particle 8 in liquid is enlarged by a camera lens 10 and is condensed at the image pick-up element of a CCD camera 9. Then, a signal from the image pick-up element is directly enlarged by a TV monitor device or is taken by a personal computer through such terminal as a video capture board and is recorded by the moving picture system or the like, and a proper screen is selected and is subjected to image processing. Since the image is enlarged, for example, on a 14-inch monitor with a high magnification of approximately 200 to the maximum, data with high resolution can be obtained. The image is binarized by software to measure the number of particles, and the size of each particle is measured by each kind of image processing such as edge emphasis and contrast adjustment.
