PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ear type clinical thermometer having a reliability improved by that a higher temp. than the axially or sublingual temp. registered in other region temp. registering means should be measured, if correctly caught the eardrum temp. and hence the measurement is established only for a temp. higher than the registered temp. value. SOLUTION: The thermometer has ear hole temp. measuring means 3, other region temp. registering means 4 for registering the temp. measured at the axillary or sublingual region, temp. comparing means 5 for comparing the measured ear hole temp. value with a registered clinical temp. value, and reporting means 6, the reporting means 6 reports to urge the ear hole temp. to be measured again, if the eardrum temp. is not correctly caught, but if correctly caught, a temp. higher than the axially or sublingual temp. registered in the other region temp. registering means should be measured, if correctly caught the eardrum temp. and hence the measurement is established only for a temp. higher than the registered temp. value, thus providing an ear type thermometer having an improved measuring reliability.
