PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the cost of a level sensor by making small-sized a photodetection diode used for the level sensor and to provide the attitude control method which is suitable for the case. SOLUTION: The level sensor 1 has a transparent container 5d in which liquid 5e and an air bubble 5f are charged, a light source 4 which emits light to the transparent container 5d, and a photoelectric converting element 6 which photodetects light transmitted through the liquid 5e and air bubble 5f and converts it into an electric signal; and the photoelectric converting element 6 has four photodetection surfaces A, B, C, and D, the external shape of the photoelectric converting element 6 is formed almost in conformity with the external shape of the air bubble 5f, and when the movement of the air bubble 5f is restricted by the internal wall of the transparent container 5c, the external edge of the air bubble 5f is projected on at least one of the photodetection surfaces A, B, C, and D.
