PRODUCTION OF HYDRAZINE DERIVATIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound stable even in a solution state by catalytically reducing a hydrazone derivative and deactivating an activity of a reduced catalyst contained in the reaction solution. SOLUTION: This compound has (C) a structure of formula III, e.g. a compound of formula IV e.g. tert-butyl 3-[4-(pyridin-2-yl)benzyl] carbazate} is obtained by (A) catalytically reducing a hydrazone derivative having a structure of formula I, e.g. a compound of formula II (R is H, a halogen or the like; R' is H, an acyl or an alkoxycarbonyl; and R" is an acryl, an alkyl or the like) e.g. N-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-N'-[4-(pyridin-2-yl) phenylmethylidene]hydrazine} preferably at 10-70 deg.C under normal pressure-5 atoms and deactivating (B) an activity of a reduced catalyst (e.g. palladium carbon) contained in the reaction solution by using preferably a catalytic poison (e.g. sodium hydrosulfite) and/or an adsorbent (e.g. active charcoal).
