PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper conveyance mechanism capable of securely removing paper clogged in a sheet conveyance path and being miniaturized and a picture image formation device provided with the mechanism. SOLUTION: This paper conveyance mechanism has a guide member 18 having two opposing faces 19b, 19c forming a side passing space 19 which one side of paper S can pass through therebetween and a sheet removal mechanism 21 including a take-out means 23 capable of taking out paper S from the side passing space 19 in a pressing out part E. A passing part 22 through which the taken-out means 23 can pass is provided in the guide member 18, and the pressing out part E moves from one side of the paper S in the side passing space 19 toward the other side of the paper S as the take-out means 23 passes the passing part 22.
