摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently separate at least one halogenated aromatic compound isomer from a mixture of halogenated aromatic compound isomers by specifying the porosity of an adsorbent for separating a halogenated aromatic compound. SOLUTION: The adsorbent is based on a synthetic zeolite, preferably a faujasite type zeolite. Since the amount of the adsorbent filled per unit volume is increased in accordance with the increase of the filling density of the adsorbent but an excessively high filling density impairs the performance of the adsorbent to adsorb a halogenated aromatic compound, the filling density is preferably 0.50-O.70 g/ml. The porosity of the granular adsorbent is preferably 0.20-O.37 cc/cc and the diameter of the adsorbent is 0.1-1.0 mm. The halogen is preferably chlorine and the halogenated aromatic compound preferably has at least one alkyl group.
