NEW FERULIC ACID DERIVATIVE, ITS PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF AS CARCINOGENIC PREVENTING AGENT AND CARCINOSTATIC AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a carcinogenic preventing agent or a carcinostatic agent having high safety at a low cost by including a specific compound made from ferulic acid derived from a natural product as a raw material as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This carcinogenic preventing agent or a carcinostatic agent is obtained by including a compound represented by formula I (R1 is a 1-11C alkyl; and (n) is 1-3) as an active ingredient. The above compound is capable of producing especially an ultrahigh proliferation suppressing activity against a precancerous cell or an early cancerous cell and can be used by either of oral and parenteral administrations. For example, the above active ingredient is preferably administered in a daily dose of 20-2,000 mg/kg body weight in the case of oral or rectal administrations and 20-200 mg/kg body when used as a parenteral injection. The compound represented by formula I is a new compound and is obtained by reacting a compound represented by formula II with a compound represented by formula III (X is a halogen or a substituted sulfonyloxy) in an organic solvent in the presence of a metal hydride (e.g. lithium hydride).
