PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electromagnetic actuator which is provided with a small air shock-absorbing element. SOLUTION: This electromagnetic actuator is used to operate an operating element 17, which is guided against at least one of return springs 15, 18 and which is connected to an armature 11. The actuator is provided with at least one out of electromagnets 1, 2 provided with yoke bodies 3, 4 comprising magnetic pole faces 10. In addition the actuator is provided with at least one shock- absorbing element 19, which absorbs the shock of the collision speed of the armature 11 with respect to the magnetic pole faces 10. The shock-absorbing element is provided with a piston body 20 connected to the armature 11. In addition, the shock-absorbing element is provided with a shock-absorbing cylinder 21, in which one side formed at the yoke body is opened. The piston body 20 enters the shock-absorbing cylinder immediately prier to the armature 11 colliding with the magnetic pole faces 10.
