SELF-CLEANING INK JET PRINTER WITH OSCILLATION BARRIER WALL AND ASSEMBLING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-cleaning ink jet printer having an oscillatory barrier wall in which cleaning effect is enhanced and an assembling method thereof. SOLUTION: A printer comprises a print head 60 for defining a plurality of ink channels 70 in the head, and a cleaning assembly 170 for guiding the liquid flow along the surface 90 and/or across an orifice to clean contaminants from the surface 90 and/or the orifice. The cleaning assembly 170 has an oscillatory barrier wall 210 disposed oppositely to the surface or the orifice and defines a gap between the surface 90 and the orifice. A hydrodynamic shearing force is generated in the liquid because of presence of the oscillatory barrier wall and contaminants are cleaned off from the surface 90 and/or the orifice. Furthermore, a pump 290 communicating with the gap through the liquid feds the liquid through the gap and filters 300, 310 separate contaminants from the liquid.
