PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suck and remove the covering of a cable with reliability by forming an insertion hole which houses the removed covering and providing a sucking means for sucking the removed covering when a pair of cutting blades are separated from each other. SOLUTION: A sucking means for sucking a removed covering 13 is connected to a suction port 17 with an insertion hole 26 formed therein the diameter of which is slightly larger than the diameter of the covering 13. The suction port 17 is so formed that the suction port can be moved along the axis of a cable 12 and positioned in proximity to the faces of a pair of cutting blades 15 on the side of the end of the cable when the pair of cutting blades 15 are fed into the covering 13. The insertion hole 26 houses the removed covering 13, and the sucking means sucks the removed covering 13 when the pair of cutting blades 15 are separated from each other. As a result, even if the removed covering 13 is caught by the cutting blades 15, the covering 13 inevitably breaks away toward the insertion hole 26 in the suction port 17 from the cutting blades 15 separated from each other, and the removed covering 13 is sucked without fail. |
