PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain printed matter fast without inputting print data from an external device when outputting the printed matter by performing a printing process based upon file data read out of a memory means according to a print command. SOLUTION: When the same printed matter is printed more than once, the storage of dot image data on a hard disk 18a in storage mode is set before 1st printing is carried out, and then when a data print mode is carried out, the dot image data are stored on the hard disk 18a. Consequently, when 2nd printing is performed, a direct print mode is carried out directly only by pressing a direct key without newly inputting the print data from the external device, so that the dot image data stored on the hard disk 18a are read out and printed. The time needed to generate the dot image data by analyzing the time needed to input the print data for the 2nd and succeeding printing and the print data is unnecessary.
